O.K. so, you hear about all of these embarassing stories that happen to parents, and you think I am so glad that has never happened to me and you don't think it ever will. Well, thats what I thought but then I realized that I have a 2 year old that is learning new things each day. We were in Home Depot this evening buying our new tub and water heater. The tubs are across the isle from the toilets. I look over at Darrell who is sitting nicely in the cart and smile and think, he is such a good little boy, and I continue to look at the tubs. All of the sudden I hear Darrell gasp with excitment. He has descovered the toilets and he is yelling at the top of his lungs, " A Poop! A Poop!" We can't help but giggle at him but then he screams even louder, " I Poop, I Poop, the poddie, mom I poop!" By this time you could hear people chuckling in the other isles at him and I am so embarrassed, I thought if I got him away from the toilets, he would stop so I start to walk a way and he starts screaming that that is a poddie, a poddie and I Poop." All we could do was laugh. At least he is realizing what the toilet is used for. Now maybe we can get him to use it!

Tis' the season!
We don't have any extra room in our house but I couldn't go through christmas without hanging our stockings and putting up our tree. Darrell and Tad deserve to have the wonderful memories that I have as a child. I would wait an eternity it seems for Thanksgiving to come because I knew that after that, we were going to go to the mountains and get our christmas tree. Then all 8 of us kids would decorate it. I remember hanging our stockings on the wall going down the stairs and we always had this humongous stocking hanging on the wall above the stairs. My mom collects nativity scenes so we would put them up all over the house. My mom made these toy soldiers out of terra cotta flower pots that were so cute and they always went on the piano. My Grandma Nielsen every year would give us a chapstick and matching lotion from Avon and my parents would stick them in our stockings. My Grandma Rogers would always give us a movie and then another gift but always a movie. We would make ice cream out of snow and go sledding down the hill in front of our house in my moms great big silver popcorn bowl. I have so many wonderful memories and this season just makes me that much more greatful for the friends and the family that I have. I love them all and I am so thankful that I have them in my life. We hope all of you have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year!

5 Years!
Believe it or not, Joe and I have been married for 5 years, yesterday. I know that probably sounds like such a short time to a lot of you, but that is a major accomplishment for us. Just kidding. We have had a lot of good days and a few bad but the good definately has out weighed the bad. If anything the bad days have just made us love each other and count on each other that much more. I can't believe it has already been 5 years. We have had a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what we have accomplished in 60 years from now. Even if it sounds corney, I love Joe so much more than the day we were married. I am looking forward to Eternity! (Remind me I said that in 5 years, we'll see what I say then!)

Darrell Spence
I got to thinking about it and I figured I would do a little spot light on my boys.
Darrell Spence, daddy's boy! My little spitfire. He has kept me on my toes since the day he started to crawl. He is the funnest little boy. He has had us laughing since he was born. When he learned how to crawl, he crawled on his hands and his feet with his little behind in the air like a stink bug. I had never seen anything like it. He had this laugh that you couldn't help but laugh with him when he did it. He would let all of the air out of his lungs and then try to laugh as deep as he could. I can't explain it but if you ever heard it, you know what I am talking about. He is always looking for his next adventure. He has gone places that you would never imagine a two year old would go and most of them were when he was 1 turning 2. I have had to coax him off of the roof, he went swimming in our attic full of insulation, he has been up more ladders than I can remember, scaffolding, and just this Thanksgiving we found him on top of his Grandma and Grandpa Sanders awning. He keeps it interesting. He is fascinated with trains. Joe will find trains on you-tube and he will just watch them for hours. He knows all of the noises they make and he makes the sounds everytime he sees train tracks. All the way down to the "All Aboard!" He has a good mind a very responsive spirit. I don't have a choice, every night he makes me say prayers with him before putting him to bed. He is a pretty good big brother although sometimes he gets a little touchy about his favorite toys. He is my little sweet pea and I love having him in our family.

Tad William
My little Tadlet...
Tad is our little charmer. He is the quiet but mean one. He is very good at doing something to his brother and then turning it around to look like his brother is the one that did it to him, needless to say, Darrell gets in a lot of trouble for things I don't think he really does, but I'm not sure. He loves the outdoors any chance he gets he escapes outside to play with his dog "Sis". He has the absolute cutest giggle and all you have to do is look at him and he laughs. He is always learning, he is smart and has a good ear for music. I know it sounds crazy because he is only one but if you sing a few notes, he can sing the same notes right back to you. Him and his brother both respond to music very well. He loves to cuddle and any chance he gets he will come curl up in your lap and want to play. He has a sweet spirit and a very strong will. I know that he will go far in what ever he does because of his strong will. He was our suprise baby and he was a good suprise. I am so glad that he came to our family. It has just made our family that much more complete to have him in it.

HOLY SMOKES!!!
WHAT a MESS!!! Just another step to the remodel. We had to grind down the bricks in the fireplace so that a woodstove insert would fit. It is going to be installed tomorrow! I am so excited, NO MORE COLD! Don't worry, I made him shower before going to bed.

It's WINTER Time!!!
BRRRR.... me and my little lovey! It started to get pretty chillie this evening but that didn't stop us from having a nice afternoon together!
Tad loves to be outside but he is not very fond of the cold. Even when he is freezing to death he is still loving the outdoors. His face just screams, "I'm FREEZING!"
"Two little monkeys swingin' in the tree...."
For some reason everyone is happier in the winter time! It was so funny to watch these two. They were having a blast if their smiles didn't already give you a clue! I love this picture!!!!

I'm lovin' it !!!
Last night and all day today have been so nice! We have just had a constant drizzle of rain. All of the leaves have fallen off the trees and it is finally starting to feel like WINTER!!! Well some of the time. Darrell and Tad can't get enough of the weather also. The just want to go play in the leaves and the rain all day and they would if I would let them. Hopefully we will see some snow like last year. We are keeping our fingers crossed!

I found these two little mice, eating a whole jar of peanut butter underneath my table. I just have to laugh at these two. They are such a mess!
